MIDDLE ATLANTIC PRODUCTS WRP SERIES ENCLOSURES PROVIDE COMPACT ENCLOSURE SOLUTION FOR ARIZONA PUBLIC SERVICE SECURITY UPGRADE ORLANDO, FLORIDA, September 12, 2005 - Demonstrating the versatility of Middle Atlantic Products enclosures, the Arizona Public Service Company recently employed WRP Series low-profile wall-mount enclosures in a system-wide security upgrade. The space-saving WRP enclosures were implemented to house a DVR, UPS and associated video surveillance and networking technologies installed at the utility's remote customer-service/payment centers. Arizona Public Service Company (APS) provides power to both residential and commercial customers statewide, operating power plants in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada and numerous customer-service/payment centers located throughout the state of Arizona. In the past, APS installed holdup cameras that used 35mm film, but has since upgraded these offices to digital video. Numerous attempted robberies and the on-premise, automated payment machines that have become vandalism targets made this upgrade a necessity. In fact, there was enough damage to the machines that John Robinson, Security Technician/Locksmith at APS, had to invent a protective grillwork over the touch screen that allowed operation but prevented them from being damaged by dissatisfied customers. "To house this sensitive security equipment, we use Middle Atlantic WRP-4 and WRP-6 enclosures," said John Robinson, Security Technician/Locksmith at APS. "They were perfect for our retrofit since we have limited wall space and didn't want to take up floor space. I couldn't find a similar solution anywhere else that provided space saving and was a quality solution at the same time." Middle Atlantic Products' WRP enclosures are designed to allow vertical equipment mounting for space efficiency and aesthetics. UL Listed in the US and Canada, these enclosures mount to a backpan for even weight distribution and feature top cover and body lock that are keyed separately, ensuring secure access for authorized users only.
