Company's flagship enclosure series now approved for use in California healthcare facilities and hospitals.
FARIFIELD, NEW JERSEY, July 3, 2007 - Middle Atlantic Products today announced that its MRK Series Equipment Rack has received OPA approval from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) in California. Integrators performing work for California hospitals, as well as general commercial, institutional or industrial construction, now have the ability to specify MRK Series Equipment Racks with the confidence that these enclosures meet all of the highest seismic and safety standards.
MRK Series Equipment Racks are Middle Atlantic Products' most robust, full-featured enclosures available. Each rack includes design features that account for the essentials of an integrated enclosure system, including space, thermal, cable and power management. MRK enclosures are seismically certified to protect up to 900lb. of essential equipment when used in conjunction with MRK-Z4 brackets. Each rack is fully welded with open sides making it easier to gang multiple enclosures. MRK Series Equipment Racks also feature new removable split rear plates and top knockout plates to allow for easier cable pass through.
The OSHPD assigned "Fixed Equipment Anchorage" approval review number for Middle Atlantic Products' MRK Series Equipment Racks is OPA-1338. In addition to OSHPD, the MRK Series also meets the following standards: ASCE 7 - Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures; CBC - California Building Code; EIA/TIA 310D - Cabinets, Racks, Panels and Associated Equipment; IBC - International Building Code; ISO 9001:2000; NFPA 70 - National Electrical Code (NEC); NFPA 5000 - Building Construction and Safety Code; UBC; and UL listed in both the US and Canada.
